Software Engineering Group 1: Geotyper

Background

Through their learning careers, students will have to rely on typing in order to take notes and complete various assignments. Our goal is to create an educational game that will train students to become proficient typers. Additionally, we hope to improve their knowledge of the Geography of the United States.

Project Description

In Geotyper students will be able to explore a virtual town and interact with its inhabitants. By interacting with the NPCs, students can play three different mini-games that will test their typing skills and knowledge of American states. Our three mini-games will be a typing racer, a vocabulary game and a geography quiz. Geotyper is recommended for students in grade 5. The education level is based on the Massachusetts History and Social Science Curriculum.
